September

Intro

We had two short breaks in the caravan in September, as we weren’t able to take time off work but wanted to get the most out of the static caravan while the weather was still good.

Visits

We had a wonderful day in the sun at Priory Bay, near Seaview. This is an excellent, tree-lined beach that very few people seem to know about.

It really felt like being in the south of France, looking out across the bay and seeing the boats all moored up along the shore. To access the secluded beach, visitors need simply park at Seaview and walk along the beach towards the bay. The bay should be on your left as you look out to sea.

As there were so few people on the beach, we had a great BBQ with fresh marinated chicken. Delicious!

On another visit, we took in The Isle of Wight Zoo with the family. This was great as the zoo has a wide range of animals and also contributes a great deal to worldwide conservation.

The children loved the big cats and the huge reptile room. The parents were less convinced by the latter, although they did find the family ticket to be good value for money.

Ownership

In hindsight, we should have bought a storage box for the caravan. This comes in handy for storing outdoor kit.

Our thoughts have already turned to a potential upgrade next year, with a veranda and storage box already included.
