It is a haven for all species of birds including Buzzards, Kingfishers, and Herons, and there is even the occasional visiting otter to be spotted around the park’s beautiful and private woodland walkways. The stunning Tamar Valley is picturesque and offers a variety of activities such as canoeing on the River Lynher. Local trains ride over the spectacular Tamar Viaduct to Plymouth, a historic seaport offering extensive shopping outlets and eateries.
There are also cycling routes along the Tamar Trails and opportunities to visit National Trust heritage sites, such as Morwellham Quay, Cotehele, Lydford Gorge, and the mines at the heart of Poldark country.
